The film focuses on sport sensation Joost van der Westhuizen and portrays the glorious life of a rugby legend who, despite a debilitating disease, continues to live life with the same determination and fighting spirit the world knows him for from his days as a scrum-half for the South African rugby team.

Diagnosed with motor neuron disease (MND) in April 2011, Van der Westhuizen unashamedly goes through the emotions of having the disease. “I went into a quiet shock at home, I couldn’t believe it… You start to worry about your kids,” he said,

“One day you can’t move your arm, another day you don’t have speech. Every day you are reborn and you take the day as it comes. [The doctors] told me I would be in a wheelchair and that I have two years left to live. I decided, stuff them!”
